Wichita is Kansas's largest city and an aviation-manufacturing hub, with traffic concentrated on Kellogg Avenue (US 54/400), I-135 and K-96. Downtown and Old Town host most major events, which keeps crowds compact. Here’s where a digital billboard truck earns its keep in Wichita, what it costs, and the local rules.
Routes work best when they repeat through a focused zone. These are the Wichita areas we’d look at first, and the format that tends to fit each.
Brick-street entertainment district with restaurants, bars and weekend crowds.
Evening takeoversOffice core near INTRUST Bank Arena, Equity Bank Park and the Riverfest grounds.
Event campaigns & takeoversRevitalized dining and retail district just west of the river.
Monthly routeStudent and game-day traffic plus a growing research and office campus.
Event campaigns & takeoversMajor retail and dining corridor on the city's affluent east side.
Monthly routeFast-growing west-side retail cluster.
Monthly routeTypical pricing on Legion-built trucks across the network: shared monthly routes run $995, $1,895 or $3,495 per 4-week cycle depending on how often your ad rotates, and exclusive takeovers run about $800 for 2 hours, $1,400 for 4 and $2,500 for 8.
The same zone sees your ad every week of the cycle. Good for aviation and manufacturing employers.
$995 – $3,495 / monthOwn the truck around a game, concert or convention day; time it to Wichita Riverfest (May–June) or a home game.
≈ $1,400 / 4 hoursGrand opening, product drop or sale weekend: your creative only, on the route and schedule you choose.
≈ $2,500 / 8 hoursTypical ranges, not a quote. The operator serving your area sets final pricing and availability, which can vary with route, season and creative needs.
Book event campaigns early: trucks near the big dates go first. Event-day street closures and traffic control apply to trucks like any other vehicle.

Wichita makes it unlawful to park a motor vehicle on any street, alley or right-of-way in the city for the purpose of advertising (City Code Sec. 11.52.020(18), as amended by Ordinance 52-326 in 2024). No ban on driving advertising vehicles was found. The city sign code defines portable signs to include signs placed on vehicles (Sec. 24.04.045(a)(41)), which affects stationary displays on private property. No Kansas state ban was found.
Your operator plans the route, parking and timing around these rules and any event-day restrictions.
