Mobile Billboard Advertising in Miami, FL

Miami-Dade combines dense urban districts like Brickell and Downtown with heavy tourism, a year-round event calendar and a large bilingual (English/Spanish) audience. Local rules matter: Miami-Dade bans vehicles parked solely as signs, and Miami Beach bans advertising vehicles on Ocean Drive and nearby South Beach residential streets. Here’s where a digital billboard truck earns its keep in Miami, what it costs, and the local rules.

Local Rules

Mobile Billboard Rules in Miami

Short version: driving a route is generally the safe format in Miami; parking to display is where the rules bite.

Miami-Dade County Code Sec. 19-15.12 bars vehicles, vans, trailers or trucks parked continuously in one spot solely as advertising signs, and Sec. 33-95 covers vehicles used as ads seen from public roads. Moving trucks and business vehicles in daily use are allowed. Miami Beach City Code Sec. 138-61(b) makes it unlawful to operate an advertising vehicle anywhere on Ocean Drive, or in the South Beach residential area bounded by 6th Street, North Lincoln Lane, Lenox Avenue and Drexel/Pennsylvania Avenues. Advertising vehicles there also may not tow trailers. Miami Beach has also moved to restrict advertising boats in some city waters. Other municipalities, such as Miami Lakes, can be stricter.

Your operator plans the route, parking and timing around these rules and any event-day restrictions.

FAQ

Mobile Billboard Advertising in Miami: Questions

Are mobile billboard trucks legal in Miami?
Yes, with limits. Driving a route is the usual format, and your operator plans around local parking and event-day rules. This is a plain-English summary, not legal advice.
Can a mobile billboard truck drive on Ocean Drive in Miami Beach?
No. Miami Beach City Code Sec. 138-61(b) makes it unlawful to operate an advertising vehicle anywhere on Ocean Drive and in a nearby South Beach residential area bounded by 6th Street, North Lincoln Lane, Lenox Avenue and Drexel/Pennsylvania Avenues. Routes in Miami Beach should use other commercial streets, and operators should confirm current rules with the city.
Can a truck park and display near Kaseya Center or in Brickell?
Miami-Dade County Code Sec. 19-15.12 bars parking a vehicle continuously in one spot solely as an advertising sign, so campaigns here are usually run as moving routes. Any stationary display on private property needs the owner's permission and must follow local parking and sign rules.
How much does mobile billboard advertising cost in Miami?
On Legion-built trucks, shared monthly routes typically run $995 to $3,495 per 4-week cycle depending on rotation frequency, and exclusive takeovers run about $800 for 2 hours, $1,400 for 4 hours and $2,500 for 8 hours. Event campaigns are quoted per event. The operator serving your area confirms exact pricing.
Who runs the truck for a Miami campaign?
Campaigns run through operators in the Legion network. Your request is matched by campaign ZIP code to an operator who serves the Miami area, and that operator confirms availability, the route and your creative.
How do I know my ad actually ran?
Legion trucks run ScreenFleet, which logs every ad play with a timestamp and the truck’s GPS location. Your delivery report is built from that proof-of-play data.
