The Kansas City metro straddles the Missouri–Kansas state line, so each city has its own sign and traffic code. A strong pro-sports and barbecue culture and a compact downtown entertainment core create predictable crowd peaks. Here’s where a digital billboard truck earns its keep in Kansas City, what it costs, and the local rules.

No mobile-billboard ban was found for Kansas City, Missouri. Its sign code (Zoning and Development Code 88-445) prohibits flashing or moving signs, but whether that reaches signs on moving vehicles could not be confirmed. In Kansas City, Kansas, the Unified Government sign code (Sec. 27-721(b)(6)) exempts signs on operable vehicles. Sec. 27-722(d) prohibits vehicle- or trailer-mounted signs placed on or near the premises of the business being advertised, and Sec. 27-726(c)(4) says an illuminated sign shall not be a mobile sign on a truck or trailer. How that last clause applies to operating LED trucks is unclear. Overland Park and other suburbs have their own codes, which were not reviewed. No Missouri or Kansas state ban was found.
Your operator plans the route, parking and timing around these rules and any event-day restrictions.
